On May 19th Katarina successfully defended her thesis “Assessing strategies for the prevention and control of emerging tick-borne diseases in urban and peri-urban settings” that examined the current scientific knowledge on intervention strategies for Lyme Disease prevention in urban and peri-urban areas to inform locally adapted, acceptable, and feasible disease prevention and control strategies. New publication: How Human Movement Shapes the Success of NTD Programs
Threads Lab is excited to share a new scoping review by Dr. Sangare and colleagues, examining how human mobility shapes who is reached during mass drug administration (MDA) campaigns. The review highlights how these movement patterns can disrupt coverage, leaving pockets of untreated populations and sustaining disease transmission, even in areas with otherwise strong programs.
