The Threads Lab organises a weekly Lunch N’ Learn session for students and staff every summer. On June 10th, our guest speaker, Dr. Don de Savigny, spoke about the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on health and care systems and emphasized the need to adopt a systems thinking approach for health system strengthening. He also highlighted the importance of using neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) as a barometer for progress in health systems. Because NTDs affect the most neglected populations, tackling them requires a social justice and systems thinking approach, both of which are also needed in the current global Covid-19 crisis.
