Social Prescribing to combat the effects of isolation

Congratulations to our research partners Drs. Sue Bennett and Heather Dunlap at the Children's Hospital at Eastern Ontario who have written a super op-ed published in the Ottawa Citizen. They outline the pilot use of social prescribing of museum passes for children and families living in vulnerable circumstances in Ottawa. Social prescribing is the practice of healthcare professionals "prescribing" community activities of all kinds to combat social isolation and loneliness. The Threads Lab team have worked with the Vanier Social Pediatic Hub over the last few years, bringing global health lessons to a local context.
