On the one year anniversary of Canada's Kigali Declaration commitment, the Threads Lab, in collaboration with the Canadian Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases, proudly welcomed guests Dr. Ibrahima Socé Fall, Director of the WHO's Department of Control of Neglected Tropical Diseases and Dr. Anthony Solomon, Chief Scientist in the Department of Control of Neglected Tropical Diseases at WHO, to mark this significant milestone.
On June 1, 2023, Ottawa became the epicenter of transformative discussions and fruitful collaborations during the highly anticipated CSO Roundtable event. Representatives from Canadian civil society organizations were invited to engage with Dr. Socé in a captivating moderated discussion to share and imbibe invaluable insights on integrating NTD prevention and treatment into international programs encompassing #WASH, #SRHR, #nutrition & #FoodSecurity, all in an unwavering effort to #EndTheNeglect & #BeatNTDs
The CSO event was followed by a Parliamentary Reception on the evening of June 1st, 2023. The enchanting Senate of Canada set the stage for an unforgettable evening, co-hosted by two Senators: Senator Stan Kutcher and Senator Peter Boehm, in collaboration with the Canadian Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Honorable Member of Parliament, Anita M Vandenbeld, for gracing us with her presence. Together, we reflected upon Canada's resolute commitment to the Kigali Declaration, emphasizing the integration of NTDs into primary healthcare and the profound impact on women and girls.
