Delighted to have been able to contribute to this landmark publication capturing the success and progress made over the last 20 years in the elimination of lymphatic filariasis. This global programme was launched in London at the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene in January 2000 and since then, great progress has been made in eliminating the disease in 17 countries and counting! Our paper (Keeping communities at the centre of efforts to eliminate lymphatic filariasis: learning from the past to reach a future free of lymphatic filariasis) highlights the role of communities in the global LF programme as key partners in its success.
