Tick Season is Here - Newly Published Paper on Lyme Disease

ree

The Threads Lab is proud to announce that a paper submitted by Katarina Ost (PhD student) has been officially published in BMC Infectious Disease journal.

With the rising prevalence of ticks across North America, staying informed on the latest Lyme disease research is more crucial than ever. Lyme disease continues to pose a serious public health concern, and this systematic review adds vital insight into the current context.

The study, coauthored by Katarina Ost and Alison Krentel examines 127 studies to study the effectiveness of interventions that reduce Lyme disease transmission. The study found that social acceptability and resistance, environmental impact, cost and feasibility are factors that should be considered in addition to chemical acaricides when choosing interventions for greater effectiveness.

Congratulations to Katarina and the entire Threads Lab team on this important contribution to infectious disease research!
